Designing a kitchen and an adjoining mudroom is not for the faint of heart, but Jeff Brown made the experience about as painless as it could be — I daresay, even enjoyable. We really could not be happier! Our project was a renovation of a very old house, so we had to work within certain parameters, including a specific footprint, odd angles and a very inconvenient staircase. As a first-timer to kitchen renovation, I had a vision in mind that was not always easy to communicate. Jeff approached all these challenges like a true professional. He asked many questions, showed us lots of images of possible cabinet designs and finishes, and patiently explained the pros and cons of each. Then he sent us as many computer renderings to consider as necessary until we nailed down every aspect of the design. He was extremely detail-oriented and prompted us to think of things we hadn’t considered, such as various alternatives for under-cabinet lighting and options for echoing the moulding details in the rest of the house.
My highest praise goes to his ability to think of creative solutions to challenging areas, such as blending the cabinetry and shelving from our butlers pantry into the overall kitchen in an odd little corner that included both a 90-degree and an 270-degree angle. Less obvious, but equally inventive, was the spacious appliance garage he built for us INSIDE the kitchen wall (left of the sink), complete with a lazy Susan, to make better use of what would otherwise be dead space under a staircase. Although that pesky staircase encroached on the backside of an upper cabinet, Jeff designed an angled back that is almost unnoticeable — even with a glass door. Moreover, Jeff designed a clever cabinet cover above the oven to be affixed by magnets to make for easier access to the exhaust fan if the need arises.
In addition to his great attention to detail and fantastic craftsmanship, Jeff was very sensitive to our budget and went the extra mile to think through ways to cut costs without sacrificing too much of our vision. Instead of having one large piece of mahogany for our long, mudroom bench, for example, he crafted a bench by adjoining narrower planks of mahogany with attractive v-grooves that have even greater visual appeal than a single plank would have had. These kinds of suggestions helped us significantly reduce the cost of the initial estimate.
Once work began, Jeff worked very hard to ensure that the job was completed on time. And, as a testament to his first-class customer service, he followed up with us, periodically, for some time afterwards to make sure that we were fully satisfied, making himself available as needed for any issues we wanted to have addressed.
I recommend Jeff with the utmost enthusiasm to anyone needing a skilled, cabinet craftsman. He is a pleasure to work with has exceeded my expectations throughout every step of our project. Jeff, thank you for all your thoughtfulness and hard work in our home!

During our recent home renovation in Lakeville, Jeff, among many other things, designed and crafted from scratch several built-in bookcases, a full bar area with both a wall unit and an island, re-designed all of our closets and replaced all of the window/door trim/moldings throughout.  We cannot recommend Jeff and his work enough!  The quality and craftsmanship of Jeff’s work is incredible and he was always available to promptly advise/respond as needed.  Jeff went above and beyond his original remit to show us that he is an absolute craftsman.  We would definitely work with him again and highly recommend him for any of your home design needs.
